We all know that, with a sense of God-given direction and purpose, we are propelled forward to achieve our mission in life as individuals and as a Church family. As a Church family, we have felt led to put together the following general Mission and Vision Statements. It is our hope that as you pray over these statements, Holy Spirit will affirm and create goals and strategies for us to action in our work and ministries in Doubtless Bay and further afield.
Our mission is to live the Great Commission: To win people to Jesus Christ, baptise them and teach them to obey everything Jesus teaches.
Every member and ministry equipped and sharing the Gospel with the people of the Doubtless Bay Community and further afield.
We will equip, facilitate and encourage every Christian, every ministry and every community service to have a mission focus and be active in sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ.
We will seek to share the Gospel, by word and by deed, with everybody who will listen in the Doubtless Bay area and wherever we go.
We will seek to share the Gospel abroad by sending and supporting overseas missionaries.
Our Sunday Services will regularly present the Gospel and opportunities will be given for people to respond. New Christians will be encouraged to be baptised as soon as is possible.
Discipleship is core to Christian lifestyle. All who are locally connected with DBCC are encouraged to become an active participant in one of our Disciple Maker Groups.
We will encourage and release those connected with DBCC into their God-given gifts and ministries. We will also encourage one another on to spiritual maturity through personal Bible reading and prayer. We will seek to be a group of Christians who love one another and seek to actively pursue the “one anothers” of the Bible.
We recognise that a high percentage of young people, from the age of 4-14, make meaningful and lasting decisions for Jesus Christ. Therefore, we will invest an appropriate amount of time and resources to facilitate ministry to this age group.
These statements, of course, only remain words on paper unless we take hold of and live them out in the variety of ways Holy Spirit will leads us. There is always room for addition and adaptation as we move along as a Church family in our various ministries.
